Fashion Week New York started – Wintour is coming

Every year (both September and February) no matter where I am in the world. Today I am in Sevilla Spain supporting my boyfriend on basketball world championship…but I am always equally excited, ecstatic and hyperventilating ahead of my favorite shows. This year I (again) choose love but I made all arrangements to be there for at least part of the fashion week in February.

You can watch all shows which are broadcasting live HERE on official Mercedes Benz Fashion Week website. On the same site you can see the shows from MADE which is the schedule of shows from other (not main) locations where emerging designers are showing.

Hashtags which you can search on google or the social media network you are most using are: #NYFW, #MBFW and #FashionWeekNewYork and there you can join and follow live conversations directly from New York’s events.

New York Fashion Week is taking place in multimedia Lincoln Center and is sponsored by Mercedes Benz. It’s taking place from 4th to 11th of September and next one is of course London from 12th to 16th of September you can see the full London schedule HERE.

new-york-02Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future… this is known as Fashion Week.

This year I will follow all of the shows so be sure to stop by my blog daily and read the review of the shows from that day.

What to expect from Spring/Summer 2015. shows?

According to fashion trend forecast organization WGSN we can expect to see the following trends in Spring/Summer 2015 season:

Romantic and feminine looks featuring tinted pastels, 60′s style influence, light lace mixed with cotton and silk mixes when it comes to fabrication, overall very soft and gentle looks with 3D floral embellishments (remember McQueen 2015 resort collection) polo variations and core neutral colors.

In Autumn/Winter season we saw many very classic androgynous shapes, this season we expect to see more tinted whites on top of staple black and grey colors. In terms of shapes we look forward to more new key layering pieces, different variations of white shirts, origami folds, various ideas of cropped shirts (so work on your abs during Winter ladies ;) ) , asymmetrical hem, waist line will remain higher (remember Burberry pencil skirts with higher waist line), lengths are going up in upcoming Spring season as well. We can also expect to see lots of soft pleats (as homage to 40s).

Sporty trend will definitely reappear in SS 15′ season. Look for more color blocking and fabric piecing as well as geometrical (optical) print blocking.

Overall, we can expect very commercial Spring/Summer 2015. season with hero color being purple (yay!) and of course indigo (denim) is going nowhere.

Any predictions from your side? Which trend would you like to see go bye bye and which would you like to stay? :)
