The Culture Vulture
Aman Resorts opens its third property in China, bringing their signature blend of muted elegance and quiet celebration of the natural and cultural surrounds; the Amandayan continues in this tradition as a complement to the rich history and romantic landscapes of Lijiang. Laid out across a series of traditional courtyards, the suites are designed with indigenous motifs unique to the region, including Nakhi embroidery and Dongba carvings. The Ritz-Carlton Macau brings its signature razzle-dazzle to Asia’s casino capital, with a palatial all-suite opening this May. A part of the Galaxy Macau™ integrated resort, the Ritz is set to raise the bar on wining, dining and spa offerings in the neighbourhood, along with sister opening the JW Marriott.
The Up and Comer
Singapore is gearing up for the much-anticipated opening of the South Beach Hotel, part of an incredible new development that evolves colonial era military buildings into a futuristic complex of offices, retail space, luxury residences, private club, and hip hotel. The hotel’s design is driven by the likes of Foster + Partners and Philippe Starck creating distinctive 654 guest rooms. The hotel is set to house two Sky Gardens, two poos, a 24-hour fitness centre and a funcion space is the connected heritage Drill Hall.
