Aquatopia

Blacktips occur in tropical and subtropical waters, especially in coral reefs and shallow waters along the coast. Timid and skittish, the blacktip reef shark is difficult to approach and seldom poses a danger to humans unless roused by food. However, people wading through shallow water are at risk of having their legs mistakenly bitten. This is only one of the mysterious creatures you will face during your visit at Aquatopia.

Aquatopia which is located underneath the most famous square of Antwerp is the biggest and most impressive aquarium of Belgium. The newly opened aquarium had a rate of 20 000 visitors in only one month. Be prepared to visit an undiscovered world.

When the underwater world has no more secrets for you it’s time to see the above ground species. A 5 minute walk brings you to the Zoo of Antwerp, the home of lions and so many more.

Antwerp ZOO was awarded the international ‘Green Key’ eco-label! The label, awarded by the environmental organisation Bond Beter Leefmilieu en Toerisme Vlaanderen, rewards the efforts made to run the wildlife park in a sustainable manner. In order to get the label you must have an ambitious environmental policy, use water and energy efficiently, practice waste prevention, sort waste and encourage visitors to be environmentally aware in their behaviour.

Enjoy a combined ticket which gets you to see both worlds in only one day (Aquatopia + Zoo of Antwerp).
