Spotlight on Cannes

It’s nearing that time again, when the great and the good of the film industry come together to revel in the glitz and glamour of the French Riviera in a celebration of international movie-making. This year’s Film Festival will see Carol featuring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara go up against Gus Van Sant’s The Sea of Trees and a new adaptation of Macbeth from up-and-coming Australian director Justin Kurzel, with Michael Fassbender playing the title role. Expect dramatic performances, cinematic excellence and star-studded red carpets.

There is only one after dark venue for Cannes’ partying elite, and this is it. Expect to find movie stars and royalty alike at this illustrious nightclub, where the décor is lavish and the beats are pumping until the early hours. There is an Asian-themed den featuring oversized loungers, tiki-lamps and illuminated statues, in addition to an outdoor palm court with white canopies and VIP tents. The cocktail and wine lists are extensive and DJ sets are spun by top international talent.
