Grand Provence, South Africa

This glorious estate was first founded over 300 years ago by French Huguenot émigré Pierre Joubert, who established a prosperous farm and extensive vineyards on his corner of what is today the Franschhoek wine region. Tucked amidst the rows and rows of cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot is the Manor House itself, a stunning example of Cape Dutch architecture.

Stay in the enchanting Owner’s Cottage, available on a bed and breakfast basis or as a five suite-hire for the whole family complete with lounge, conservatory and swimming pool. The two-suit La Provençale is also available for cosier getaways.

Wine is of course at the centre of a sojourn at the Grande Provence, with plenty of opportunities for tasting. All this is complemented with exceptional food, whether at the Restaurant or over an exclusive private dining experience in the wine cellar.
