Adapters

An essential addition to any suitcase which ensures the traveler a peace of mind.

Are you wondering whether you are going to be able to recharge your cell phone or turn on a hair dryer in the country you are visiting? Countries that have the same voltage as Croatia (220, 240V) will not be a problem. But keep in mind that these countries often have different sockets than Croatia, so you can’t permanently damage your electrical appliances if you try to turn them on.

If your destination is South America, know that this area uses 110-120 volt electricity so you need an adapter that reduces the voltage. On the other hand, if you buy a device on your trip – get a voltage converter from 110 to 220 volts immediately.

Besides Canada and the United States, 110 volt electricity is also used in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Jamaica, Morocco, Mexico City, Peru, Philippines, Spain, Turkey and Vietnam, so be sure to use adapters for these countries.

It is good to know that frequency changes along with the voltage in some countries. United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland use 50 hertz, while USA use 60 hertz. Most devices are not sensitive to different frequencies, but sometimes they might work slower. If you are in a foreign country for an important business meeting, be mindful of your digital watch. Due to an inadequate frequency it could be showing the wrong time!

Almost every country has its own type of socket that comes with the appropriate extension. The best solution is to always have the whole set on your travels so that you can enjoy every minute without having to worry about whether you will be able to use the local sockets for electrical appliances. Buy the necessary equipment before going on the road. But if you forget, you can always buy these extensions at airports and specialty shops at your destination.

Do not forget, good preparation ensures a worry-free travel. We wish you all the best on your travels!
