Tanzania

A country of pristine nature and magnificent National parks is a perfect destination for all true adventurers and explorers.

United Republic of Tanzania (Tanganyika and Zanzibar) is an easternafrican country, which extends over 945 thousand square kilometers. It is surrounded with Kenya and Uganda in the north, Rwanda, Burundi and DR Congo in the west, and Zambia, Malawi and Mozabique in the south, while in the east it has an exit to the Indian Ocean.

On its territory we can find the highest peak in African, as well as the largest freshwater lake, so there is no doubt when calling her the land of superlatives. Despite the natural and mineral riches, Tanzania is a very poor country, where most of the 35 million people work in agriculture.

It is a land of exceptional diversity where hundreds of african ethnic groups, cultures, and religions are mixed.

Dodoma, the capitol, but not the largest city of Tanzania located itself in the central part of the country. Although here we can find the center of the government since 1996, many other government institutions are still in Der es Selaam – the former capitol city. It is no surprise then that many travelers choose this  seaport on the Indian Ocean as the starting point of their tourist explorations.

Tanzanian cuisine offers interesting blends of meat and fruit, so dont be surprised if you order mtori, and  on your plate you get a beef and banana soup. Also, keep in mind that people here love sugar and they use it abundantly with their meals and in drinks.

Be sure to try the tanzanian brandy (konyagi) and juices from locally grown fruits, while only the bravest will try banana beer.
